I am Black
That I was born black doesn't mean I'm jinxed, it's only a matter of privileges.
That I was born into a poorly managed nation was no fault of mine,
I only have the responsibility to make things right.
we didn't ask to be created black, why then should we be sidelined?
That you were born white wasn't your making;it's a mere privilege.
That my skin is black doesn't mean I'm cursed; No, I'm as much human in essence as a white.
That I was born poor doesn't guarantee I will die poor; why then do you criticise the poor from the onset?
Life isn't fair and I know that, but we can choose to be fair to all in life.
Your birth into a wealthy nation makes you no better than I; all I need do is create the opportunity I lacked.
That my forefathers were enslaved doesn't make me a slave, No; I live differently from them.
In my colour lies great uniqueness and beauty; but it is such that only the wise and beautiful see.
