DUAL KNOT
His saintly voice
Shreds my heart,
But this dual knot.
I would have beseeched him
To lay his salubrious flesh
On my marred chest,
But the dual knot holds my voice.
The deepest bottom of my heart,
The innermost chamber of it
Beats to cadence his name,
Wouldn’t I say to him-
‘Hearken to my heart’s yearn
Oh gentle soul’
But I resent the natural arrangement,
Which in my dignity’s name
I can’t defy-
That creatures with breasts, the dual knot never woo.
