Eye Sacrifice My Soul
I sacrifice my soul, untethered and unchained,
a flicker of fire, wild and untamed,
set adrift on the winds of the universe.
The weight of it is heavy, but I carry it—
for it is the burden I was born with,
woven into the very fibers of my being.
I sacrifice my sores, the scars I wear like armor,
each one a story, a mark of survival,
a witness to the battles fought in silence.
There’s no glory in these wounds,
but they are mine—
etched deep in my flesh,
burnt into my psyche,
they are the currency of my growth.
To God, I give what I cannot keep,
the anger, the confusion, the silent grief,
the nights spent in despair's embrace,
the days drowned in sorrow’s wake.
I surrender the weight of regret,
the times I’ve failed, the paths I didn’t take.
I give you my pain—
for it is the thread that binds me to truth,
the pain of seeing dreams fade,
of seeing the light flicker and dim,
yet somehow, always,
it never fully goes out.
I sacrifice my joys,
those fleeting moments of bliss,
the smiles that danced on my lips
before life tore them away,
before time gnawed at them
till they were nothing but memories
I clutch to my chest like fragile treasures.
I sacrifice the brokenness of my heart,
its chambers cracked and splintered,
each beat a reminder of all I’ve lost,
but each beat also a victory,
for it still pounds with life,
it still pushes me forward,
even when the world pulls me back.
I sacrifice the years of uncertainty,
the fears that stalked me like shadows
in the dead of night,
the doubts that whispered I was...
a flicker of fire, wild and untamed,
set adrift on the winds of the universe.
