Tailspin
You spin me like a carousel swept up by a twister;
Choking me until I suffocate and leave you with a blister.
You drown me as I keep swimming right into your tidal wave;
I was swept up in your undertow but I wasn't the one to save.
You found me alone; lost and scared there in the dark.
You lit the flame but it was me who caused the spark.
I should never have savored you or drank from your cup.
Now your taste lingers here; too late to give you up.
Even when you look at me; all I see looking back is hate.
Being chewed up and spit out is becoming my fate.
Their is truth in what they say; that destiny is all.
The truth is I'm not sure if the rise was worth the fall.
I beg for you and long for you as you lay three feet away.
I sell my soul to understand just so that you'll stay.
This fragile heart has been strangled by your controlling grip.
My canteen lost in the desert; left without a single sip.
I believe that you love me but is love ever enough?
Not if the love goes away when things get rough.
I fell for you like a high dive, pitch perfect, home run shot.
Turns out what you were looking for is all that I am not.
