In the depths of night
I felt love's wane
A slow departure
The fading moon's refrain
Its light once bright
Now dims and fades away
Leaving shadows
Where once it held sway
Like the moon
Love’s glow begins to wane
Its radiance dimming
No longer the same
The warmth it once held
Now grows cold
As darkness creeps in
Its grip taking hold
With each passing night
The light recedes
A once vibrant love
Now lost amidst the weeds
I mourn its passing
The beauty it once held
But
Like the moon
Its departure is compelled
Yet even as love fades

The light departs
I find solace in knowing
It once filled my heart
For in the darkness
