Red Eyes: A Viral Odyssey
In India, a tale of Conjunctivitis I'll weave,
A viral wave that none could believe.
It started with one, a family member in sight,
Then, swiftly, the rest fell to the plight.

My parents and sister, spared from the puff,
But my eyes swelled, it was sure enough.
Bloodshot and red, they couldn't hide,
A struggle to cope with eyes so wide.

I wore black shades to class that day,
The yoyo sign, some did portray.
They called me "Don" and sang the song,
"Kala Chashma," all day long.

The infection, a relentless fight,
At times itchy, then burning so bright.
A rollercoaster of discomfort we tread,
In the land of shades, we wore in dread.

To all facing this viral storm's cruel sting,
May healing swiftly your troubles bring.
Soon, we'll cast off these shades, I pray,
Just as masks have now faded away.
