The Unplanned Trip
I drive on the noisy road
of my teenage years;
passing the busy streets filled
with confusing twists and turns
that I’ve walked through before.
I watch as the street lights
blend and blur together
like the memories of
my hazy childhood.
I finally leave those confusing
times of my life behind.
I now drive on an empty road
filled with beautiful nature.
Everything seems more clear
as I can see the stunning trees
and large fields.
I look at the large billboard
with the words
‘IN ORDER TO FIND YOURSELF YOU HAVE TO GET LOST FIRST’
I don’t know where I’m going but
I’m excited to get there.
