Twenty four hour news
Thundering voices of the crowd
Bringing me the blues

Alone in meditation
Noises I don’t hear
Begin to truly focus
On what is near and dear

I see better with my eyes closed
Unencumbered tranquillity
Seeking space in my mind
Desired serenity
