The Meaning Of Easter

Most children don't know the true meaning of Easter
They're anticipating chocolate rabbits and jelly beans
To them it's just a day to find eggs
The truth of Jesus won't be seen!

Everything so bright and pretty
Flowers bloomings, dresses and bows
But Jesus'death was far from it
It was a day of sacrifice we know!

A sacrifice that could be no other way
Jesus did what He needed to do
No Angels were called, no help from His Father
No one knowing what He went through!

He was offered something that would help the pain
But He refused so He could feel the weight
The heavy weight of our sins
The murderers, the lyers, the hate!

Oh how I cried when seeing a movie of Him
Hanging there bloodied and torn
And His sweet mother just watching
So much pain for her to morn!

We really just need to get the word out
Of what Jesus did to set us free
There could be no one else in history
That would die for you and me!

I'm so grateful now more than ever
The pain He suffered sealed Eternity
For all those whose names are written
In the book of life that only He sees!

Jesus only wants us to trust Him
And give Him our hearts openly
Knowing that He's the Son of God
So we'll be with Him through Eternity!
