When you starve a flower
of sunlight and water,
there is only so far she can stretch
Her neck
To find the sun
She is planted and rooted in place
That cannot erase
Her need to be loved
And taken care of
When you starve a flower
With each passing hour
She wilts, and is in need of repair
When you love a flower
You can’t forget to shower
Her in love
