Chip Away
You gotta chip away at the pain, my love, chip away
Until you can crunch the remnants
Beneath your feet
Chip until the sun kisses your skin again
And saturates all your scars with catharsis.
Sacred heat you will hold and befriend
Shall be touched by the lips of every healing breeze
Your calluses have hitherto denied to you
Since the dawn of your dancing days
So chip away at the pain, oh lovely soul,
Just chip it all away
Until the remnants belong solely to the soil
Allow Time to feed the fungi and the fae,
Remember who you are and keep chipping away.
