I Finally Left
I remember the first time you punched me
I said something that made you really angry
you punched me and kicked me to the ground
I remember taking each punch pound for pound.
A lot of marks and bruises I saw on my face
when you'd get mad, I felt like a disgrace
the last time you punched me was on a Friday
one good blow and it pushed me to walk away.
You used to beat me to where I was black & blue
I remember the days I was angry with you
so many people used to tell me to walk away
even though I knew I stopped loving you today.
My heart used to pound when you were around
with each punch, I couldn't even make a sound
bloody lips and bruised ribs I've had because of you
I walked away knowing we were finally through.
