A True Pair
Went on a date at 2 am,
was living in a lonely hostel,
the warden was asleep,
snoring on the chair at her peak,

Gave me one chance to escape,
the back door already had no vigilance,
he parked his car at the darker side,
where the lampshade hid him exactly right,

Wore the pink polka dress he bought for me,
to impress the man I was meeting for the first time in real,

Been chatting with him day and night,
he promised me happiness and kisses under dim moonlight,

He kept his words as he drove to this place,
midnight passed already and there was nothing to be afraid,
my mind convinced me as he parked slowly,
coming closer with chocolates and boquet of roses,
I accepted it all in shyness,
but forgot to accept nothing from strangers,

The next moment slipped out of control,
as the smell of some drug hit my nostril,
"What did you do?" I asked with slurping words,
"Baby now you are mine tonight without any doubt,"
he replied feeling no regret in between,

My eyes blinked once and twice,
wanting to howl and screech for help,

His hands worked up nice,
on the places he wanted to dent,

But maybe dear God was deciding my luck,
to send over my best friend Chuck,
it was his 28th birthday and he wanted me to wish him first,
so he came my way and saw the horror,

Banged tight on the window,
got no response I feel so,
but he knew something was amiss as the ruffling inside was stiff,
the guy went outside to explain but broke his facade as I began to scream,

The night then transpired quite quickly,
but have I still have broken memories,
Chuck tells me it was really nothing,
but keeps warning me to steer clear from online dating,

I accepted my fault without regrets,
because I was just a 25-year chick who wanted some late-night thrill,

But there was never any love in frivolous conversations,
with strangers who meant to do everything wrong with your sincere emotions,

It was Chuck who saved me from the biggest guilt of my life,
the day he made me promise to never never emotional decide,
whom should I date,
and who deserves to be at the bay,

Well, I keep Chuck closer to me more than ever now,
respecting his friendship over the sleepy warden and then take a vow,
to explain to Chuck I am now ready to go on a date,
but this time real...during the day,

Chuck will understand what I mean,
because I see him often staring at me,
he doesn't say what his heart might want to shout,
he's afraid that I might still be timid or in doubt,

But he's a fool who thinks he will protect me forever,
because I am a goner and this time he himself is the planner,
who still can't grasp that his best friend is crushing on him,
but someday, maybe even tomorrow, he will know that we are meant to be a true pair.
