A new dawn of hope

A feeling that this is the time.
The knowing that the sun too will shine,
and the clouds will disappear
into the atmosphere.

A reason to keep going
with no sign of us slowing,
and soon there will be a hand to hold.

I felt like this moment
was but a dream and if I could hold it,
I would know why they said that on screens.

But in time I could grasp it.
I could hold on and have it,
and I realized that this was the last.
The last moment,
that I'd be living only in my past.
