Dear light skinned black girl
Dear light skinned black girl,
I can feel the hurt and confusion inside you. Too dark to be white, too light to be black, yet you are nothing but another black woman to authorities. Colorism is real, girl.
When white folks want to discuss black people and racism, and they hit you with that "you arent really black though", as if that justifies their ignorance....When black people explain their struggles and tell you "you wouldn't understand because you're light skinned ", even though you can relate.
You hear things like "you don't act/talk/dress black" as if black...
