Burden
My father always told me
That he thought I was pretty
Would have to fend off all the boys
Would have to limit all my toys
He said that I was lazy
A waste of all his daydreams
A daughter doing good
I’m not who he would
Have thought I would be
So embarrassing
He’s off, heavy laden
I’m just my fathers burden
My mother does the dishes
I’m in the bathtub swishing
And she probably needs help
But I’ve got to help myself
She wills...
That he thought I was pretty
Would have to fend off all the boys
Would have to limit all my toys
He said that I was lazy
A waste of all his daydreams
A daughter doing good
I’m not who he would
Have thought I would be
So embarrassing
He’s off, heavy laden
I’m just my fathers burden
My mother does the dishes
I’m in the bathtub swishing
And she probably needs help
But I’ve got to help myself
She wills...
