Fear of Not Seeing Tomorrow
Do you ever have a sinking fear
of not waking up tomorrow?
When your head hit the pillow,
But you couldn't seem to close your eyes.
You just stare into nothingness.
Your mind is in a muddled tangle.
Questions start pouring into your head,
It's like a system getting hacked.
What if I don't wake up on the morrow'?
What regrets will I carry to the grave?
What can I do to mend one thing?;
Before slipping into oblivion.
How will time move forward?
Who will be the one to feel the cord breaking?
I'm sure I'll be the culprit for stealing away-
That skip of a heartbeat, not of love;
But of loss and grief.
I have a fear of not seeing tomorrow;
But if I have to, I wish I had a wish-
To slip away like a breeze,
grazing their teary eyes and long gone-
When they open their eyes to reality.
