What if?
What if man wasn’t just a beast?
And your current maximum is just the least
What if you’re more than your blood line?
Maybe you helped making the stars shine
What if there’s more than cars, money and wine?
Sometimes I like to make truth rhyme
What if it didn’t all start inside your mom?
Maybe to be powerful you need no gun
Should knowledge get a ban?
Disappear in the ashes of man?
Should the powerful lock it behind a wall?
Or should it be free for all?
There’s something man misunderstands
Blood should run in our veins
Not on our hands
For some words you end up in the yoke
But on oxygen we shouldn’t choke
When truth is spoken
In her arms
Your heart shouldn’t have broken
Maybe some words they don’t understand
Maybe something else is taking command
Mysteries to unravel
Secrets under the ground people shovel
What a burden the ills of man
Take you by surprise they can
Maybe they come from way back when
Not your woman nor your man
What if all we need
Since now we can
Is a peek in a different time span?
In a clear night do you ever find a bright star?
Do you feel a strange pull in your heart?
What if planets are more than pretty rocks?
And play a higher role
Than just drawings on socks?
What if its God you behold?
As the fog on the mirror loses its hold
What if you are the thief?
Not your hand playing mischief
If what happens to you is under your control?
Don’t think that’s what you’re told
Behind your eyes something that can’t be seen
But its everything you’ve ever been
Why so many words are written about us?
Thousands of years
And the answer isn’t here?
I’m afraid we have it today
As the sun kisses the sky
Each brand new day
Look a little harder
There might be a bigger game to play
