Today I seen birds,
The birds, after years have grown up,
They returned to their old nest,
Where I was also raised just like them,

A shock I get,
How fast time flies,
The birds are able to fly,
And the tree is filled with new nests,

How wonderful, yet upsetting,
Knowing the birds are well and healthy,
But also knowing you’ll never live that again,
Once was peace and happiness to you,
Is now just a place of memories you’ll get to visit, and see the birds once in a while,

How cruel time might be,
Taking what we once had…,
Giving us unexpected turns of events…,
But we’re addicts of change,
change is necessary, it must be done…,
As I learn to appreciate time,
I change too.
