AND SO SHE REPLIED
Pleasure engulfed her whole face
She only felt the time would pause
She expressed the pleasure of the promised place
Which is worth bearing all the earth's loss

I contrasted my diaphragm to let out some air
Finally, finally I produced some words
I looked into her eyes and sensed some fear
Yes! I want to tell her the story of birds

Many birds still dine in there nest of pride
Some were lost like bullets of a gun
Few just flew past the honor of a bride
I seek to know how long she has gone

Her eyes clouded with the threat of rain
She told me she couldn't remember her home
I held her closer and swallowed the pain
And so she replied, "I'm farther than the genesis of Rome."
