pretty girl
where’d you go
off with wild wonders
or to the peep show
sunshine or thunder
we’ll never know
destined no other
where’d you go

choking on failures
coughing up lows
star of the dope show
where’d you go
flight out a window
down to the street below
escape from a trainwreck
where’d you go

I’ve been here before
I already know
awake in a manger
where’d you go
down an endless stairwell
to the unknown
I was beside here
but now I’m alone

a shell of a stranger
only half of a ghost
she’s gone and forgotten
but here more than most
rotting and dying
down on the 3rd coast
you get what you pay for
where’d she go
