To be jolly
"It's that time again"
You realize, as you watch the clock.
Why do you seem so unamused?
"It's that time again"
You sigh, as you wrap your kids' presents.
Why do you seem so uneventful?
"It's that time again"
You write, onto the postcard to your family.
Why do you seem, just, like last year?
"It will be that time again"
I insist, as I recieve your postcard.
If you write, so will I:
"To be jolly isn't always at first,
And it certainly isn't from the purse.
To be jolly is everyones' epiphany,
So long as you continue to stay with me.
To be jolly is, indeed, that final gift,
Not only money was spent,
But so was time with the kids!"
