Alone
#WritcoPoemPrompt24
Dark is the night,
Darker the soul,
Fathomless depths,
Stories untold...
Suffering so deep in her sleep,
she weeps.
Pain in the depth of her eyes,
the remanents of a lovers lies.
She hides away in a world of her own,
she would rather be alone,
than with anyone else,
at least she can trust herself.
Such a waste they say if a beautiful girl,
she could have changed the world.
They don't understand, they don't have a clue.
She once tried to give the world her wisdom, to live out there amongst them.
They ripped her into pieces, she loved them as they tore her to shreds,
with their razored edged tounges and their words that were double edged knives.
They told her they loved her , then from those same lips they would let gossip flow like melted butter,
drip drip drip, from sweet honeyed
lips.
They ripped and tore her heart into shredded little bits.
Then from the world outside,
she began to hide.
She cried and day by day she began
to slip further away,
she became stone,
and now she lives in her room alone.
