Lockdown
#WritcoPoemChallenge
#CoronaVirus
The days too eventually fell silent,
No sounds, not even by the crows,
All you could hear was the sound of,
Fear knocking on the doors,
All bound by the law,
That to keep safe is to be locked indoors,
We used to shout while walking corridors,
Now the streets are silent as dust.

Lockdown, that's what they said,
Only for a while, that's what we heard,
A while slowly turned to a year,
And deep down some are still stuck in that year,
The year we all felt dread,
As fear crippled humanity like crumbs of bread.
