In the Silence of Night
In the silence of night, my heart does race,
Grief and terror fill this empty space.
What ifs intrude, unsettling peace,
In this restless mind, fears never cease.

A chest burdened with invisible chains,
Anxiety’s touch, it leaves deep stains.
No rest, no calm, just endless dread,
Darkness and worry fill my head.

I seek solace, a gentle reprieve,
From the turmoil, the fears I weave.
But shadows linger, refuse to part,
Their icy grip tightens on my heart.

Oh, for a moment, to breathe and rest,
Without the weight upon my chest.
To find a light, to quell the storm,
In this life where fears are born.
