Writing Plights
Half an hour before midnight
Here I am writing plights
Breaking my own fragile heart
Falling at my softest spot
This time nothing rolling my cheeks
I've been in pain for countless weeks
Shadows in white, red flicker in stripes
Shared little town, old sadness swipes
Armorless flesh battling in war
Curtains closed, shows played in raw
Wasn't it intended? The lane you took
Doesn't it hurt? The way I shook
Table scattered by pieces of figments
How'd it all fully painted in pigments
Thought I'd paced out of the place
But once again I'd sunken in disgrace
For you everything goes as desired
Wrapped me up with the barbed wire
If anything appeared as a threat
You might think it was a great regret
Truth is it was a good happenstance
But I won't take another chance
So I lay the quill, sit beneath the grey
Let the sunset put an end to the day
