The wren sings in the old saguaro
poking her beak outside the hole
Her joyous notes flow
through the trees
where branches,
dressed for spring,
sway in the breeze
Her home secure in monsoon winds
no predators reach inside
A protective property to build her nest
the small, bold creature freely flies
and safely hides
