The Café Terrace
under a grand starry night
there is a place with warm yellow light
a café where I take my respite
we’re all painted and faceless
most of us nameless
seeking nightly to remember the day less
and like rain to chalk out bitter days
wash off in the night and the lively café
the dark streets that surround us
where reality is boundless
here they haven’t yet found us
we strive to feel less like
ghosts of the daylight
and so we pray
for a never ending night
in this charming café
