The mask that stole my place
I find myself always fighting for her
Even though she doesn't stand her ground on this earth
bruises and cuts across my face ankles are weak from fighting this race
No one sees the tears running down her face
Because she hides it under the mask she built off of her disgrace
Holding on to anger and hate not realizing this energy will cause her a case
So one day she comes face to face with God who brought her down to this place
And took two knees bounded and grounded by Faith
Ready and begging in agany to prey
Feeling God removed it with love in his grace
Rising on two feet feeling lighter then Air to what once felt unfair
When the mask was removed I saw it was me hiding behind there
