Society's "Beauty Queen"
I see her around, walking in those high heels
And I can't help but wonder how those feet of hers feel.

She's an ideal girl, her long hair and fake lashes.
She made the concept of natural beauty burn to ashes.

She has more followers and likes on her 'gram than I do,
I ask myself day and night "Oh, why can't I be just like her?!"

Why can't I be as pretty as her,
Have an hourglass figure
That makes heads turn?

Why can't I be loved and adored
Just like she is,
Be famous and talked about,
Word spreading to heavens above?

No matter how hard I try,
No matter how much make up I put on,
No matter how provocative my clothes are,
It didn't really get me that far.

I get a few likes and follows here and there,
DM's are also rare.
While she gets it all so efortlessly
That it's really not fair.

But is it normal
To obsess that much?
To strive to be "beauty queens" that society loves
So much?

What about our brains and personality, what about morals and individuality?

I keep asking myself that same question for years,
Why can't beauty queens be
brainiacs instead of airheads?
