Nautilus
Sometimes I like to watch you think
and smile as your face brightens
that moment when you start to speak,
emerging from a silence
to turn and glide so brilliantly,
a nautilus in motion,
then dive again into the deep
oblivious blue ocean,
where dreams are like anemones
in fragile coral hollows,
and sometimes I forget to breathe,
remorseful I can’t follow.
