Ms. Becky Anne stops in for a cut of cured ham
Bunny Hop Pete
Adores fresh meat,
Although he can't digest it,
He's a butcher by profession,
Slaughtering porkers by the dozen
For a human-hearty treat;

Loyal patron Becky Anne,
Stops in for a cut of cured ham,
"A single Lincoln for a pound,
Sliced or diced or fully ground?"
"Surprise me!" hotfoot she resounds,
This time around she has him beat;

All a scramble, Pete hops to it,
Cleaver knife, he grabbles for it,
Oddly absent from its slot,
Far and wide he scours the shop,
Arising from his spot he finds
Becky Anne standing by,
Planted firmly at his feet;

In her hand, the missing cleaver,
Gripping tight with a sinister glower
And a growing grin,
She whispers to him,
"'Tis time to meet my long-lost sister,
But not before I lop off
A slab of hairy hamhood,
For this mama has no lack thereof
Hungry mouths to feed."
