THE GUN
You were so happy on your 5th birthday
When I gifted you a toy, a gun
"Mom,i love you" you sung,
The spark in your eyes had alot to potray,
I knew you were not holding it just to play,
I remained in denial for long,
I was stubborn to prove you wrong,
But one day you were dressed in green,
My boy was looking so serene,
My heart sank,
As you were posing with a tank,
I was just being a mother to you,
I forgot you have your father's trait too,
You grew as a gentleman,
I was scared for the journey you began,
So brave and courageous you have become,
People saluted you everytime they heard your name,
My kid fought on borders,
Trianga was flying high beyond orders,
The War ended well for our motherland,
And I got a blood wet sand,
Your name was announced with honour in the parade,
All I could hear was that grenade,
Not even a single piece of my prince,
I was waiting to see him since,
I was left once again with a helmet and a gun,
Alone I adored both the warriors
THE FATHER & SON.
