From yon celestial height I tumbled free,
A tender tear from Heaven’s veiled eye,
Through winds that whisper soft, I danced with glee,
To kiss the earth 'neath twilight’s velvet sky.

In yonder cloud I found my fleeting birth,
In vapors soft, where mist and dreams entwine,
I wept for joy, then fell to ancient earth,
A silver bead upon the trembling vine.

I traced the leaf with soft and tender grace,
Then joined the streams in Nature’s grand design,
To wander 'cross the world in every place,
Until the sun's warm rays did make me shine.

And lo, from thence I did ascend once more,
To sail the heavens as I did before.
