It's a simple question I know
But is it... really?
We hear it so often
And yet it never seems simple
At least to me it doesn't
Who am I?

In many cases I listen to what others say
But they just describe themselves in an upright way
"I'm kind, caring and love to smile"
Yes that may be true but I've seen you cry
I've asked for your help and you gave me a no
Because you were late for class so you had to go
So what does that mean?
Do we all tell a lie
Look at it this way
We're two sides of the same coin

I know it's weird and I've thought it through
All my characteristics have counterparts too
I'm kind but I can't always share
I'm caring but I can't always care
I love but sometimes I hate
I'm patient but sometimes I just can't wait

So now you get my point
A simple question no longer seems simple
But yes there is still an answer for everyone to discover
Who am I?
I'm a human whose flaws are many but I try my best to do good
I have ambition and goals like a proud man should
I will make mistakes
But I still hold my head high
It's like my mother said
It's important that you try
That's me right there
In a sentence or two
Now the big question is
