NO-ONE LAUGHS.

Laugh all you want but honestly nothing about this life is funny,
young kids neglected, rejected as they cry for Mummy.
They cry for food with nothing but a shared Greggs cheese bake inside their tummy,
drug addiction steals Mum's money, is this a nice life for Mummy?
No, but what about the kids that are sat in the kitchen starving hungry,
today is Sunday, they haven't eaten a decent meal since Monday.
Now tomorrow's Monday again, but Mum went and fell behind with the rent,
her kids never see a penny, she gets the pennies and every penny's spent..
Social Services don't even seem to know what to recommend,
'cause budget cuts have hit them hard, they can't afford to spend to send,
somebody round Mum's house to offer to lend a helping hand 'till she's on the mend,
all she needs is a friend, somebody to break her from the trend,
of spending all her spends, going round the bend,
whilst her kids just sit and fend, for themselves, all over again..
When they finally do intervene they take the kids and pass them on to a stranger,
Mum's just glad they're safer from danger, but can you blame her?
