Early Dawn
Sun dawning

Kettle is screaming

Coffee grounds awaiting

Fish are calling

Sleepy child rising

Groggy mommy fumbling

Tiptoe through the door

We go

With steaming cups in hand

Bundled snuggly

our hoods pulled up

Off to the river

we drive

Tiptoe

Down the bank

Our feet go

Splish splash

Lures hit the water

Cool air tickles dreamily

Our hands move without thought

Giddy grins grow

Poles are bending

Bobbing

And bowing

The little critter teases and plays

Giving us quite the skirmish

Our eyes alight with delight

As we free the lovely swimmer

Shadows are disappearing

The day is warming

And fish are hiding

We start packing

With a little begrudging

As the schedule is knocking
