When love came
Love didn't come how I expected it to.
It didn't come wrapped in sea-blue eyes, sugar-white skin, jet black hair, a perfect smile, with a chiseled jawline.

Love didn't come wrapped in the physic of a Greek god, a picture-perfect mirage of what I've always imagined it to be.

It didn't come when I was ready, expecting it. It didn't come in a cliche like in the movies I always watched, thinking I'd go through life just like that. It came when I was least expecting it.

It came wrapped up in ribbons of time. A cute smile, dimples that could melt my heart, and a voice that was deeper than the seven seas.

Love came wrapped up in insecurities, and doubts, but a constant faster heart rate, a simple smile by just thinking of it, and it came with a lot of 'I miss yous'.

Love came with poetry. Words that could alter my understanding of things, and it came with God himself. How can I forget green tea?

Love came with green tea and junk food. It came with being complete, but not. Love came with Standwa sami, and a lot of I love yous that I may not believe half the time.

Love came with jealously and confusion, butterflies, and an uncanny ability to giggle at nothing but silly jokes. Love came in sickness that I still pray for.

Love came and messed up the picture-perfect bad guy I'd envisioned. Love came and it created a storm. Love became my little stormie.

It came and it stayed. Like I said, I wasn't expecting it. But it came, it stayed, it loved and saw something better.

And it still sees something better, or so I hope.
