God give me wisdom,
And as well understanding,
Even in a weird kingdom,
Make me discerning.
I know that wisdom is profitable to direct,
And that it ts the principal thing.
Therefore, it will include intellect,
Which costs more than a farthing.
King Solomon settled a dispute
By acting wisely.
His action did not need a statute,
But he acted shrewdly.
Wisdom cannot cut a swathe through people,
Therefore, I'll be okay with scruple.
