The Rabbit and The Tortoise Fable, Retold.
Slow and Steady, retire at Sixty,
With brittle bones as gratuity
Hypertension a companion for perpetuity.
Let's bid adieu to this old fable's sway,
And set a new normal for all people.
A tortoise lives for a century,
“Slow and steady” for them is a truth rudimentary.
We humans don’t stay around that long,
Half that time you hold in your hands.
Getting some sleep en route?
Is not an option in your pursuit.
So give up this idea of 'Slow and Steady',
Born after a gestation of nine months, you are late already.
Borrow from the rabbit the swiftness,
And from the turtle, the toughness.
Then set your gaze on the end of the horizon,
And with swiftness & steadiness, make that your own.
And then,
Swift and steady, retire at forty.
