Hidden Reflections
#WritcoPoemChallenge
The smile on my face is real,
It bears witness to how I feel...
and it's a simple fact
that if you peer in close enough,
you will see right through me.
The smile,
you will find is only a
billboarded facade.
A quiet lie between the two,
and a direct casualty of knowing you.
It faces you staring,
Boldly and misleading
as beautiful as it is,
It's just a reflection for you to see
like a Window shopper fixing her lipstick,
unaware of the surfaces beneath.
And who are we kidding really?
Your interest doesn't lie there anymore.
Staying seated
quietly locked behind closed doors,
I always shudder when you take a peak.
But you now see finally what no one could dare...
Me.
