I Forgive you, Daughter
I declared a million times that Jesus is my Lord.
Insisted that my joy is found only in His Word
I boldly claimed that His love had set me free,
And I told everyone I met He alone had saved me
I read the books, I sang the songs,
I cheered the rights,
Condemned the wrongs.
I rejoiced in faith with my Godly brothers,
Introduced Jesus into the lives of several others.
I celebrated our adoption into God's family,
Proclaiming it to be the only way to be set free.
Until one day, the enemy made a loathsome play.
And I waited for the God I knew to say, "Uh uh, no way!"
But He didn't make a move, and He didn't say a word.
I was overwhelmed by my fear for myself and the World.
My broken neart heart tried to figure out this mess,
Questioning the faith I has so long professed.
I looked to the sky and as I cried I shook my fist,
Then, fell to my knees when looking back, I saw Jesus.
He was weeping, too; He too felt betrayed,
For my faith in Him had collapsed, because I was afraid.
He said that...
