Love Lie Down
I will die with love upon my lips,
With its song still in my ears.
I will hold that arrow to the flame
Let it brand across my ribs.
Let the parched desert wanderer
Drown deep in sole oasis.

I feel as if your heart is still
Escaping from my arms,
With love reflected in your eyes,
I'll blame some trick of light.

Thrown from the wreckage
Her love the twisted branch that leaves me
Lanced and bloodied on the ground.
A motion to remove would kill me,
Nonetheless, shall I stay skewered?
A parting of my vital self
Or is it all I need?

Nevermore and evermore
My dry throat croaks your name,
You never hear or ever fear what
Lies beneath our skin.
I comfort myself coldly,
Pleading for the sword to thrust.
So we may reach our final breath,
Together, dust to dust.
