Hollowed-out beings hold up platinum towers.
The crushing weight crushes them but they need to eat.
So they stay.
Hollowed-out stomachs of hollowed-out souls,
if you can still call them souls,
dissolve hollowed-out bodies in acid.
Bodies liquify.
Festering puddles of dream-sodden goop,
screaming,
agonising,
burning,
to be solid again,
holding up platinum towers,
because their children need to eat too.
