Because my idea of love
Was too real for this fake world.
I wanted a love that was pure,

But too many people are playing games,
Using love as a tool,
Treating it like it's just a name.
I wanted a love that was patient,
A love that was kind,
A love that was worth the wait.
But too many people are in a hurry,
Jumping from one thing to the next,
Leaving love in a flurry.
I wanted a love that was honest,
A love that was real,
A love that could weather any storm.
But too many people are hiding,
Afraid to be vulnerable,
Putting on a façade that's blinding.
So why am I single, you say?
