Hung up feeling the pain of rejection
you know in yourself upon reflection
they should have been there for you
but yet again they aren't, nothing new
and yet you keep calling and hoping
they don't even know if you're coping
absence in your heart, too much time
going round in circles, awaiting a sign
and yet you're struggling to let it go
to forget and move on, it's hard I know
but sometimes for your own good
you gotta hurt short term, draw blood
before the wound can heal and close
feeling let down is painful for it grows
unless you allow yourself distance true
it'll well up as resentment within you
just turn your back, new plan of attack
think of you only, they're a ball sack
not worthy of your love and tenderness
you shone even before them, I confess
I want to see you the person you are
happily valued, not ignored from afar.
