Its bitter sweet

Once I dug a pit
Deep in shame and self pity
Never thought much of myself
But doubted everyday
Religiously I'd say
"Why can't you be like 'them' ?"
To be normal, I prayed

Yet deeper and deeper
I sunk myself
A smile plastered on my face
"No one can know"
"Don't show the pain"

Fountains of tears
...more like the ocean
Happy when the night came
Because that signalled
the day's end

Seeked refuge in my dreams
To escape reality
But all I saw was my mistakes
Replayed over and over
