Chained Phoenix
One day my soul ascended to Heaven,
But my body was still alive on earth:
Earth had become Heaven to me,
Because I met Henry, my soulmate.

He is so handsome & majestic.
I bet the angels in Paradise miss him.
Well, they will just have to mourn
his absence;
Because he is now mine forever!

On my half there is a loss,
A conflict if you will,
Of monumentally epic proportions:
On the one hand, I do love Henry;
Yet I am saddened also . . .

With this choice made, I will never
be free.
My authentic self will die countless times
On a funeral pyre like a Phoenix,
But unlike one, it will never experience
resurrection.

So in essence, the devil wins . . .
or does he?
Although, I have one foot in hell,
And the other in Heaven,
The game is far from over!

I have tomorrow nevertheless;
The next day, and more days following.
I also have an immense secret:
One so mind-blowingly mysterious
That the devil would stop in his tracks
to possess.

The enigma isn't in the Bible. . . .
However it is written in my heart:
Reincarnation is the key to redemption,
And the downfall of Satan's domain.

In this lifetime I gained Henry,
In the next one I will be male,
And then I will become free
Of the chains that bind me,
And like a Phoenix my soul will soar!
