The Venus Flytrap
There was a giant cocoon
It flourished in the fight against wind and rain
Producing a beautiful Butterfly
She got wings and started to fly
Not too soon after she met another
They both flew together, had their fallings
But always flew back up new as larvae
One day the beautiful Butterfly was allured
Her friend flew everywhere looking for her
She was resisting and succumbing
butterfly flew and flew the threat grew and grew
A beautiful plant emerges, big, tall, pointy top
He had a tasteful scent, the Butterfly adored it
Landed on the centre
The Butterfly was festering on the aftertaste
Uncaring for her friend who found her
He knew she was in danger from HIM
He flew and flew and flew and flew
As his minuscule heart tries to touch her
SNAP
She is now entrapped, succumbing
Now he tries to bring her gifts and food
Everyday, Keeping company, HE keeps dissolving
He flies by one day, he’s much too late..
HE has completely swallowed the butterfly
Only her wings remain and HE remains shut
He was too late to save her
But the question becomes
Who couldn’t escape?
