Adventurers Tale
#WritcoPoemPrompt22

He drops on the sandy folds,
Of a deathly bed,
A lost traveler of a mighty desert,
Parched throat, cracked skin,
He is his own Messiah,
Or another vagabond victim
Who in a thousand years
Will be unearthed dead
An archaeological dig will ensue
A historical scientist at its head
Musings who's what's why's & when
Will spin tales on toungs
Until light is shed and then
Perhaps a mystery solved
Perhaps the beginning of
a child's new favorite legend
Will ensue or there might be
no credit where credits do
Perhaps the story will be
misconstrued
He did not live to verify
Perhaps his life story will be a lie
Turned into a fairy story or child's lullaby
Or worse yet a Limerick like
that poor woman from Niger
and that hungry tiger
Forever the object of laughter
At least to him none will matter
For life is for the living not the dead
and he is the latter
His body will condence to dirt
Only his bones will wait
To be unearthed in the desert
beneath a thousand years of sandy folds
Of a deathly bed
